Spiritual Journey of HSMA – Farnham

Posted by admin | Posted on 20-03-2010

Six members of the HSMA from Farnham plus Sr Ewa Pliszczak and I travelled to Wroughton Swindon for another gathering of the Wroughton group as part of their spiritual journey or formation.

We left Farnham a bit earlier than necessary in order to have time to visit the graves of our sisters in the cemetery. As a Filipino custom, I gave each member a candle to light up and put at each grave wherever they want to pray for that particular person. They were happy and thrilled with this experience. After that we all prayed for all the dead and left.

When we arrived at Wroughton Parish centre, the Parish Priest together with 20 members heartily welcomed us. After the Priest’s welcome, he entrusted everything to Deacon Lawrence (who took over from Sr Marilda as the leader of this group) and we started the day’s activities with a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits.

As usual, for the sake of the new ones, we introduced ourselves and our joys for this occasion to be together and also express our expectations.
Then Deacon Lawrence gave the flow of activities for the day, as follows;
- meditative service or guided meditation with appropriate songs and readings
- personal reflection
- superb lunch
and after lunch, we continued with the prayer service, vespers and benediction all facilitated prayerfully by Deacon Lawrence. I imagined Pentecost when the Disciples were filled by the Holy Spirit…Everybody was fired up to share their experiences and could hardly stop talking with one another in between our sessions! Lastly, they also renewed their commitments at the end of the session.

We also planned to reach out to the group in Bristol later and all agreed to it. The Farnham people sung a thank you song for the Wroughton friends and bid goodbye.
Then we proceeded to Bristol on our way back to Farnham. Sr. Lizy and some sisters present in the house welcomed us also with a cup of tea/coffee and the members from Farnham introduced themselves to the Sisters. Sr. Marilda was very happy to meet them.
We would have loved to have stayed for a longer time but it was late, so we drove back to Farnham with joy in our hearts and arrived at 9:00pm. All were very grateful for the experience.

An Act of Consecration to the Holy Spirit

Posted by admin | Posted on 19-01-2010

O Holy Spirit, divine Spirit of light and love,

I consecrate to You my understanding, my heart and my will, my whole being for time and for eternity

May my understanding be always submissive to Your heavenly inspirations and to the teaching of the Holy Catholic Church, of which You are the infallible Guide.

May my heart be ever inflamed with love of God and of my neighbour; may my will be ever conformed to the divine Will, and may my whole life be a faithful imitation of the life and virtues of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to whom with the Father and You, Holy Spirit, be honour and glory forever. Amen

St Pius X, 5 June 1908
